PRASAD : A BLESSED LIFE A BLESSING TO ALL LIVES

JP- THE TRUTH by Mrs.JP

Born to Madalaimuthu and Theresa on September 10, 1965 in Kolar Gold Fields, Dr.M.Jayaprasad’s father was the Overseer at Bharat Gold Mines Limited. Born into a very humble, devout & pious Catholic family, he was brought up to hold steadfastly to the faith & values as preached & practiced by Christ himself. Growing up meant home, Church, school, & back home to a loving family of 9 siblings .He was the 8th.
Among the things he reminisced were that all through he had never raised his voice at either of his parents. Disobedience was just not his nature.A warm, simple, loving person, humble to the core.

He has been a self-made man right from childhood;he never had the comfort of tuitions or parents\siblings helping with school.Nevertheless he excelled in academics & when it came to choosing & pursuing his professional degree, his struggle to obtain PG & PhD, he did it all by himself. He is a person with extreme positivity who has hardly backed out of any challenges of life either professionally or personally. This is also because of his immense trust in the Lord.

As a Son he has given his parents both the pride of a successful professional, the love &
affection due to them & also the satisfaction of watching the values they instilled in him being
practiced, things hardly seen in this generation. No amount of gadgets, branded merchandise, etc, is
sufficient to prove the love of parents today. Values parents try to instill seem abusive or primitive to
kids today who think friends, media etc, alone define values.

As a Brother he has been equally loving & affectionate to all his siblings not just in words but
by his deeds both physical & financial thereby lifting them to a better state & not just being
complacent with only his own growth.

“WORDS MAY LIE BUT ACTIONS ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH”-Swami Vivekananda

He has been a friend to anybody in need irrespective of great or small, rich or poor, known or unknown .He always felt the need to reach out to any in need of moral or financial support. As an academician, in his 30 years of experience in teaching, training & continuing education, he has transformed thousands of lives & enlightened many more.He always believed teaching is one of the noblest ways to serve one’s Country.

“LIFE IS ABOUT MAKING AN IMPACT , NOT JUST INCOME”-Kevin Kruse

His love & passion for the field of Technical Education has gained great respect among academicians & students because of his persistence, hands-on methods, superior negotiave skills, unequalled knowledge among others .He has a gift for simplifying & explaining engineering concepts, demystifying them & making it something his students looked forward to learning. With his encouragement several students who had been written off by others have distinguished themselves in the subject. He has been a great motivator especially to his students, fellow faculty etc &help develop in them the aspiration to become better, stronger versions of themselves. No matter how desolate the situation of the person is, he will talk him into feeling that the problem is miniscule, fill him with confidence & give the simplest of solutions. He can cause a truce in an instant with tact, diplomacy but most importantly, unadulterated honesty which can easily convince the hardest of hearts. I hardly remember anybody who approached him & left without a solution or solace.

“IN THE LONGRUN THE SHARPEST WEAPON OF ALL IS A KIND & GENTLE SPIRIT”-Anne Frank

During his 30 years of service ,he has held various key leadership positions which involved increasing levels of responsibility, accountabily & authority. It takes a lot of patience to reach the top of one’s profession & as hard to keep that position. An absolute down-to-earth person in the literary sense who shunned every ounce of pride or ego which made him easily approachable by people of all walks of life. He was blessed to have led a happy contented life, never too ambitious or comparative of others. He was always grateful to all the little gifts life offered & heartily enjoyed every moment. He could always see the bright side of every situation grasping the positivity & opportunity of every crisis. This positivity was so infectious, it has changed the perspective of so many people.

“HEALTH IS THE GREATEST WEALTH ; CONTENTMENT THE GREATEST GIFT ; FAITHFULNESS THE GREATEST RELATIONSHIP”-Buddha

A firm believer in physical fitness he never missed his daily walks or regular fitness routines. Following a strict schedule of Yoga & Sudarshan kriya routines along with clean dietary habits was his passion. He loved to advise others to follow the same.
As for me if there is anything beyond the concept of soulmates, that’s what we are. He is my one & only thickest friend ,a loving mother when I needed to be consoled, a responsible father when I needed to be protected, an astute guide at every step of my way, my pillar of strength by which I can move mountains. More than anything my only true love, the kind that can only be experienced & one that cannot & neither needs to be expressed nor can be understood by anyone.

As a Father, he has carried his child not only in his arms, but in his heart, mind & soul. The most loving & affectionate father with whom she could interact about all things devoid of any ego or restrictions. Nonetheless a strict parent, he was while instilling the values of patience, humility, compassion, honesty, etc was also teaching her to place values & ideals above the degree of education, social status or the position in life.
Even with the passing of our only child ,who was the purest soul, he let her go as an Angel, having great faith in our upbringing & immensely proud that she never fell for the vices of the world. Inspite of the deep unimaginable pain of her loss, he never ignored or compromised on his professional commitments both as an administrator dealing with the smooth functioning of the University Departments & as an academician entrusted with the progress of students whom he would always encourage & motivate, helping them through the tough covid times. On a personal front as well, he reached out to his Father-in-law at a crucial time helping him out with his house construction & caring for him through his illness & finally laid him to rest as well

“THE UNEXAMINED LIFE IS NOT WORTH LIVING”-Socrates

There can be people highly ambitious & immensely successful professionally & yet not have the contentment or peace of mind they hoped success would bring or they being consumed by ego that prevents anybody from approaching them & so they loose out on the ever important virtue of reaching out to others which actually defines versatile success. There can be people struggling to achieve something but failing due tomany reasons & feeling dejected & lost. There can be people professionally successful as the society would perceive but a disaster on the personal front. It is indeed a rarity to witness the life of a person who by Sincerity, Hardwork, Perseverance & Self-confidence achieved professional progress & had the enormous Positive attitude to appreciate & be grateful & contented with all that he achieved which is in itself TRUE SUCCESS.

On the personal level too he proved to be the Ideal Son, Best Brother, truly loving caring Husband, the most devoted & outstanding Father, a true Friend for any in need. And to be able to achieve all these without hurting, cheating or crushing anybody on the way nor compromising any of his value systems. This makes me want to believe that it does not matter how long you live or how prosperous or famous you live to be, but it matters most to be able to live a fruitful, contented & yet successful life without compromising any of the ideals in any situation. A life lived with no regrets all along and absolute peace of mind hence probably why his Passing was equally peaceful. I now reminisce & realize how blessed I have been to be chosen to live in DIVINE PRESENCE.

“NOT HOW LONG , BUT HOW WELL YOU HAVE LIVED IS THE MAIN THING”-Seneca

Nonetheless, it also brings some big questions: Why do bad things happen to good people?..Is there a purpose in life?..What happens after I die?…. All these are eternal mysteries not problems & deserve our time & attention. Just thinking about them ennobles & transforms us. If we spend our time asking “Do we have enough cheese?” we will have a life full of cheese & nothing else. We don’t take time to understand the difference between wisdom & intelligence. Being smart is knowing what is. Being wise is knowing what matters. Smart can happen to young people. Wisdom takes years of living. Smart thinking is to live a good life, purposeful or not, not hesitating to make compromises as we don’t know what happens after death. Wise thinking is to live a purposeful life of no regrets not to the world but to one’s own conscience so death is peaceful as we need not worry what would happen therafter. There are enough smart people but not enough good people. Nothing comforts our souls more than caring about people who are just celebrities, because they are pretty or outrageous or rich or on TV. The world is actually filled with amazingly good people who are making the world better or atleast helping to keep it from getting worse. The good ones ought to be the celebrities but the world does’nt work that way yet. Today’s youngsters are being drawn to the lure of money, fame, & are made to believe that, it is their purpose in life, when in reality they are being absorbed by the never-ending maze of malice.

My intention of bringing out this webpage is to give them an alternate Role model of a person who lived in their own times, who could resist & conquer all temptations towards malice not with the sad demeanour of Sacrifice but the Prudence of Soul satisfaction that it would result in & yet lead a Righteous, Fruitful, Satiated life & hence a Successful life. I stand testimony to the immense peace he enjoyed in life & above all the Amazing peace at his passing which makes it worth giving up all malice. If this inspires even one soul towards the path of Righteousness my purpose of sharing this page would be served.
